My Favorite Films of 2007

So tonight is Oscar night.

Haven't seen all the movies nominated for Best Picture (I usually wait until they come out on DVD) and you are probably too young to see most of the nominees. But, what the heck, in the spirit of the evening:

Some films I really enjoyed in 2007 were: American Gangster, The Bourne Ultimatum, Rescue Dawn and Ratatouille. But, my favorite film of 2007 was: Once

How about you?

My favorite movie was June, hands down. This movie is about making a hard decision and then following through on it. It's not a kid film, but I know that some of you have seen it with your parents. Rated PG-13.

The most interesting movie from 2007, in my opinion, was Persepolis, an autobiography adapted from a graphic novel with the same name. It's about a girl growing up during the Iranian revolution. The quality of the images conveyed the feeling of war and what it must have felt like to have to leave family behind. Persepolis was nominated for best animated film, but it is not a kid movie. Rated PG-13.
